The Power of Prayer

Never underestimate the power of prayer.

Several weeks ago, God sent sixty prayer warriors to our Center. They were truly a sight to see! Never has a group of people prayed as intensely and as passionately as these warriors did. As they began to rise to their knees to worship, it was almost like God heard their pleas and a miracle happened.

Immediately—almost instantaneously—rain began pouring down like never before and the sound rung in our ears like music. The presence of God was truly there that day. Several of those brethren approached me to say that they have never felt God’s presence as they did at our Center. Others testified that God spoke to them about our Center that it was a Lighthouse to the nations. Thank you Lord for sending your prayer warriors!

Mindoro Outreach

Several weeks ago, God allowed me, my son, Joe, and our friend Aaron to minister to the Mangyans—a rural tribe in the Mindoro jungle, along with a missionary couple and their two children. Together, we taught the Word of God to the Mangyan churches.

This trip to Mindoro was really a humbling one, and I believe that we were more blessed by the whole experience than the people we ministered to. As we were there, I learned that the typical Mangyan eats only one meal a day. One of the pastors even told me he saw a man eat a rat because of the lack of food! It saddened me to hear of their dismal situation and I couldn’t thank God enough for providing for me. We are praying that God would send someone with knowledge about livelihood projects and health care to help these people improve their standard of living as well as their spiritual well-being. It’s amazing what God can do in unreached places as we preached the Gospel and gave out food. We are praying that God will lead us to partner with our friend, Pastor Jonathan to minister to other unreached villages in Mindoro.

Fundraiser Support

At present, there are ten students accepted for our three-month training program from September 17-December 14, 2018. We know God will fill in the remaining two spots to complete our set number of twelve for this program. The next batch of training will be from mid-February to mid-May, thus enabling us to train twenty-four church planters a year.

These students will begin their church planting project during the first week of training, as well as working full time as a church planter upon graduation. They will commit to planting daughter churches up to the fourth generation in line with the theme of II Timothy 2:2—the foundation of our whole ministry.

We have had an amazing opportunity to partner with Alpha Ministries, who have graciously offered to support all our graduates of half of their needed financial support for up to three years upon graduation. God has blessed this ministry immensely, but we still have a long ways to go. We still need support for the rest of the finances to complete the next three months of their training. We urge you to keep us in prayer during these next few months, and to consider financial support for the training of these church planters.

God bless!

Monthly Mentoring Group

We are so excited to have our fourth mentoring session this Monday, June 25th! God has truly blessed this group, which has now over forty members and growing each month. Although we may belong to different denominations, we are united because of our sole purpose—to help one another multiply churches. Our vision is to see two hundred churches planted by the year 2020! Glory be to God!

Monthly Mentoring Group

222CMN has started a mentoring group for church planters every last Monday of the month.  Last March, 2018, our mentor was Brother Bennie Matthews, CEO of Alpha Ministries, an international Christian ministry committed to see 100,000 churches planted in Asia by year 2020.

We welcome all like-minded evangelical Christian leaders committed to fulfill the Great Commission through multiplying churches.  We meet at our Center located in Barangay Aya, Talisay, Batangas.

Training Center Progress

Praise the Lord for His provision towards completing our Training Center Building!  As can be seen in the picture below, the building is more than halfway finished and Lord willing, it will be finished in time for the initial batch of church planters on September 11 – December 8.

We are still accepting applicants for the intial school batch.  To apply, please go to contacts on the menu and fill the personal information under Apply as a student.

God’s Ways Are Not Our Ways

Truly, God’s ways are not our ways. Amber and I were not scheduled to return to New Jersey until June 20 but on March 18 we boarded a plane to New York due to the passing of Amber’s mom.

Rose, as she was called by her friends, was much loved by many as proven by the overflow crowd at the church she loved in Rockland, NY which Amber and I started back in 1990. Rose continues to be a witness to others as we share, whenever the opportunity presents itself, some of her prayers that she wrote. One man I spoke with whom I have known for many years and who was at the memorial service of Rose told me he prayed the prayer of salvation which Rose wrote and which I read and spoke on.

Construction of the Training Center is temporarily halted due to a requirement from the admin office of the development where we are located. Lord willing, we will resume construction work very soon even before Amber and I return on May 17. Thanks to my dear brother and co-laborer Warren Chua, the Bible study every Sunday in Tagaytay City continues despite my absence as Warren faithfully and sacrificially comes all the way from Quezon City just to teach the few who have very recently received Christ as Savior. Praise God, all the players of the basketball team who went to Word of Life basketball camp with 4 wins and 0 loss have accepted Christ in their hearts!

Amber and I are praying that God will use our stay here in the US to raise the needed funds to complete the training center building in time for the school opening in September. We are also trusting God that He will raise up the twelve men who will make up the first batch of trainees.

A Quick Update

We are currently halfway with building our Training Center in Talisay, Batangas.  Also, our first church plant in Tagaytay City is doing very well.  God has blessed us with a strategic location right in the heart of the city beside the newest and biggest mall by Olivares College/Rotonda area.

With the help of the second Mission Team from Calvary Chapel Old Bridge this March, we were able to minister to seven unreached Barangays (villages), two of which are our primary targets for church planting.

The youth basketball team we organized in Tagaytay City will be going to Word of Life Camp on April 3-7 along with several other teams from around the country wherein they will be immersed not only in the game of basketball but more importantly in the Word of God.
